Malama Visits Santa
December 15, 2007

Santa and MalamaMālama and the State Department of Transportation's Storm Water Management Program Team participated in the 21st Annual Breakfast with Santa on December 8 and 9.  Breakfast with Santa is an annual benefit for Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii held at the Japanese Cultural Center in Honolulu.  About 1,400 children attended the event and got to take their pictures with our Kathy with a KMālama suit and received Mālama's activity book with helpful hints on how to keep our ocean clean by keeping our storm drains clean.

In addition to the many children attending the event, Mālama was also photographed with celebrities like Santa, Kathy with a K and Meadow Gold's Lani Moo.

Lani Moo and MalamaWhy would Santa invite Mālama to breakfast?  Because in Hawai'i, Santa arrives by canoe, and any pollution that gets into the storm drains, goes straight to the ocean. Santa doesn't want to paddle through a dirty ocean, so remember, the storm drain is only for rain!
