2023 Q1: AAH-044, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 130th Engineer Brigade
Following a number of successful cleanups, AAH-044, Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 130th Engineer Brigade, has been named Oahu District’s First Quarter 2023 Adopt-A-Highway Champion. Their route is a two-mile stretch along Sunset Beach on the North Shore.
Most recently, the group held cleanups in November 2022 and February 2023 with another scheduled for June. Soldiers, friends and families of HHC, 130th Engineer Brigade, have come out to support these initiatives, leading others by example and leaving a positive impact on the wider community.
“We love this island and hate to see litter on the roads,” said Company Commander Samuel Gest. “We are grateful for all the opportunities Oahu has to offer and understand the importance of being good stewards of its resources and the surrounding community.”
The 130th Engineer Brigade is a unit within the United States Army headquartered in Schofield Barracks. The group specializes in combat engineering, construction and bridging operations, and supports the United States Army Pacific.
