2023 Q2: AAH-064, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Pi Sigma

DOT-HWYS Oahu’s Q2 2023 Adopt-A-Highway Champions Congratulations to Oahu District’s Second Quarter 2023 Adopt-A-Highway Champion, AAH-064, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Pi Sigma! Through monthly cleanups, the group has greatly contributed to keeping a heavily trafficked section of Nimitz Highway free of trash.

With the help of 10 to 14 members at each event, Phi Beta Sigma covers a two-mile stretch along Nimitz Highway, from Elliot Street to Lagoon Drive. Adopt-A Highway is just one of many projects the fraternity participates in to help with the beautification of our island.

“Our fraternity is an organization who views itself as ‘a part of’ the general community rather than ‘apart from’ the general community,” said Lawrence Fuller, Phi Beta Sigma member. “Phi Beta Sigma continues and will always be a beacon in our society while forever adhering to our fraternity motto: Culture for Service, Service for Humanity.”

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1914. The Military Alumni Chapter, Zeta Pi Sigma, was chartered in 1979 here in Honolulu and has been a proud member and support of the community for over 44 years.
